A metà giugno 130 personalità del mondo degli affari e della politica si erano riunite all’hotel Suvretta di San Moritz : “leader globali” che una volta l’anno si incontrano per – si mormora – decidere le sorti del mondo.
Queste personalità costituiscono il famoso ed esclusivo club Bilderberg, una congrega che fa la gioia dei cospirazionisti e degli adepti della teoria del Nuovo ordine mondiale, i quali vi vedono un ordine occulto che decide le sorti del pianeta dal 1954, anno in cui si tenne la sua prima riunione.
I suoi membri fanno parte anche di altri gruppi e le loro riunioni, a cadenza annuale, si tengono sempre in primavera e sempre dal giovedì alla domenica.
